Your Wedding Photographer - What Level Of Interaction Should You Be Seeking
By Robert

In the lead up to my clients Wedding I converse with them via email in a series of questioners. I also meet with them and have the Pre-Wedding photos. Is your Photographer doing these things? Don't just book a guy and leave it. You are paying thousands for this and you should be seeking a high level of interaction to ensure you are getting exactly what you want.

A high level of interaction helps me to define what my clients are seeking, I encourage them to send me photos that they like and would like to try I also show them the ones I like. I have a close level of contact with my clients.

You should be seeking this in the photographer you choose. The reason I can work so closely with each couple is because there are only so many weekends in a year. I usually work on average 48 weekends of the year, not always a Saturday and Sunday but more often than not it is both days.

Why am I telling you this? Do the math with me: 48 weekends x Saturday & Sunday = 96 weddings a year.

That means that I average around 100 clients per year, give or take 10-15 depending if I do some mid week touristy stuff. (Lots of Japanese and Koreans get married in Sydney mid-week)

100 clients doesnt sound like many does it? Well Im here to tell you its not. It is easy to manage 100 clients, it is easy to work closely with them leading up to their wedding day and it is very easy to dedicate the extra time required to ensure I understand their needs and help them get exactly what they want.

If the photographer you choose can not provide you with an exceptional level of service, if they dont go that extra mile for you then forget it.

Ask yourself this question: If they are not currently providing you with an exceptional level of service how will they treat the post photography work?

Will it just be slapped together now that you have paid and the photos been taken? In this business there is simply no excuse for second-rate service, the number of clients is limited and this reason should have the opposite effect. You should receive better service because of this fact.

It is important to remember that if the photographer you select is sloppy in their sales and customer service approach towards you then it is highly likely that that is how their photography will be also. I guess the point I am making here is dont settle for second best. Not in any aspect of your selection because it could be a potential disaster.

Good luck in your search for that elusive Wedding Photographer and may your marriage be a long and lasting one.
